I’m Chanel, a woman of color and home baker living in Texas. Cakelamb Bakes is all about nostalgic and personal recipes that take you back a time that was simple and delicious. I share recipes for pan dulce, tres leches cakes, cinnamon rolls and a variety of other baked treats, inspired by my childhood and heritage.

 In 2021, after experiencing severe burnout from running a home bakery, I returned to work full-time as an administrative assistant. I shifted my baking focus to recipe development with weekend baking in mind – taking the time to enjoy the process of baking, rather than stressing about instant or flawless results. 

The kitchen should be a place of comfort, nostalgia and ambition, and I love creating a recipe that can complement that mood and result in a successful weekend baking project. Here’s to enjoying the process.
